With the jobs report today we can see the Leisure and Hospitality Sector added 210,000 jobs in October.
I manage a restaurant in Atlanta and during the last two years we lost around five to six employees to Real Estate, three of which have come back after the slowdown in housing. We have also hired +/- 10 employees since June with varied backgrounds ranging from film to real estate. One recent hire works for a local solar company, but now only works part time there and picks up a few shifts at the restaurant. He says they are still busy but they have too many employees to make him full time.
Anyone else have any data from a management point of view about where your new hires are coming from?
