Hi all, I moved jobs recently and rolled over my previous employer's 401k into an IRA. This is a traditional rollover IRA since the 401k was traditional. We have too much AGI to qualify for a Roth IRA and I've looked into a backdoor IRA but just don't know how to execute it, to be honest. I tried it last year and just got the money I moved added to my income with Fidelity. I'm glad I only did that experiment with a tiny amount.
Anyways, my question is, I have about $60k now sitting in an empty account in Fidelity. I am inclined to just buy VTI for $10k per month for the next 6 months. Is that a good idea? I am 35 years old so I have a long time before I will need this money. I also have other investment accounts and an emergency fund already and plan to buy a mix of SPY, mid-cap, and small-cap index funds with my new 401k but should I buy everything soon-ish or DCA over 6 months or longer or shorter, and what funds/stocks to look for?
