So to keep this short, I’ve inherited a decent lump sum of money. It’s been sitting in a HYSA as I’ve been deciding what to do with no avail as friends, family and colleagues all have varying opinions (some completely ridiculous ).
Some friends have said just go with SPY/QQQ or VTI/VOO and forget about it. I’m in my mid thirties w no plan to retire until at least 50, I have no debt outside my mortgage. Wanted to get the internets thoughts on what they would do with cash sitting around. I’ve had chances to invest but now after this three week bull rip I’d be hesitant buying now.
I’ve also read conflicting reports on DCA vs just lump sum get it in. I’m leaning towards waiting for a decent retracement (to the 50MA) and selling PUTS. But given how much time I have (10+ years) I also have a few companies I believe in and love their products that I’d like to get certain %s in.
Probably longer a post than I initially wanted to but oh well, thanks in advance for any advice.
