I'm consolidating 401Ks left behind from former employers.
Just finished the (online) paperwork to roll a 401K from Vanguard to a new home.
The final confirmation (from Vanguard, the outgoing bank) tells me that it typically takes 7 to 10 business days to complete?
The money disappeared from my outgoing account in minutes… I only hope there is a stash of bills in some bank vault at the moment. With a sticky note with my name on it.
My questions (rhetorical)
- Are the paper records transported by Pony Express?
- Who is reimbursing me for interest payments, while my bank holds the money
- What year is this? And have we invented the telegraph yet?
