Okay so I was at the gym recently and I ended up chiming in on a conversation in the sauna with a group of guys about stocks. Which normally I would keep to myself but I’ve been focused on tailoring my Roth and personal portfolio so I mentioned some ETFs and stuff. One of the guys in the sauna continued to list off a bunch of stocks I was very familiar with and have held, traded options on or had on my watchlist. When I got out of the sauna he stated a couple tickers to keep my eye one and some news outlets to follow and said we should exchange information so I asked if he was on Facebook in which he replied no so I asked him for his number. At first I was hesitant which was why I asked for his Facebook at first but he was clearly intelligent and has done his research and I thought we could bounce stocks to watch off eachother and share articles on tech and the economy. Is this weird?
I mentioned this to someone and they thought the concept of a man getting another man’s number at the gym and talking about stocks, business and technology was very weird.
TLDR. I exchanged contact info with a dude I met at the gym with similar knowledge and interests and someone thinks it’s weird.
