Is there anytime where one should take into consideration of the expert analysis and price targets?

I always glance at price targets and whether experts have a stock at buy/hold/sell, but I have been coming to realize that neither the ratings nor the price targets seem true and reasonable half the time. But it’s still a little unnerving to buy a stock and see that experts have a “very bearish” rating on it.
