Is sentiment eclipsing fundamental analysis?

I think the market is changing and most people don’t realise it. It’s no longer ruled by fundamentals but by sentiment instead.

You can sit there all day crunching numbers about what a company will be worth in five years, but it’s worth nothing if the wider market doesn’t respect or reflect it.
Sentiment towards companies seems like the bigger driving factor in the market these days, both positive and negative.

That said it’s harder to predict sentiment in five years I guess, but certain stocks will always be hated or neglected so even if they trade at attractive prices now, people will still hate them in the future.

I’m not saying don’t do fundamental analysis but be conscious that you can’t calculate emotions with a calculator.
