Is big tech running into a wall?

One of the interesting things with the huge growth of the FAANG names over the last decade of do is that they have all grown in their own lane. Google did search, Apple did hardware, Microsoft was software, Facebook had social, etc…

It looks like these companies are starting to try to move into each other's territory. MSFT is pushing into search with chat GPT, apple is seeing large retailers (Spotify being notable) to incentivize buying through their website as opposed to the app store. Facebook is feeling the pinch of apple's restrictions. Google is moving into the cloud….etc.

I'm thinking these companies will have a hard time keeping up their growth of the last decade because they are starting to have fearsome competition form the first time in ages, from each other.

Any thoughts?
