Hello everyone, I had a question regarding fees for Index Funds. My little sister recently started contributing to a 401k offered through her employer (they don’t offer any matching so she’s just been contributing out of her paycheck). She asked me to take a look at her account and after 2 years, her investment is down 57%. Currently 100% of her allocations go toward TFITX and the fund itself is actually up a small percentage. I’m trying to wrap my head around how the fund itself is maintaining value and her investment is down so much? When she asked her employer they said it’s because of fees, but this seems excessive. Any insight into what could possibly account this?
