Long story short, I'd like to own a few shares of stocks that have potential to be long-term leaders in the CRISPR technology field. From what I've learned so far, there's 2 main big stocks: Vertex and Regeneron. They both have important partnerships with a bunch of smaller companies to develop the tech
Vertex works with Crispr Therapeutics while Regeneron is with Intellia Therapeutics. All four companies are publically traded on US stock market.
Is it generally better to invest in the big biotech stocks whitout touching the smaller companies they work with to develop the tech?
Or does the eventual success of Vertex and Regeneron also automatically imply the success of the smaller companies they work tightly with ?
Thanks! Btw I'm not intending on investing more than 2-3% of my portfolio in this field. I know it can be very volatile
