Why am I bullish? I think it's true that Twitter *is* the town hall of world. But it is poorly run and poorly monetized because Dorsey is a hippy and has a complicated relationship with capitalism.
Musk is capitalism incarnate. Love or hate him, it's hard to deny his business track record and bluster skills. So I think he will probably turn Twitter around and re-IPO for a larger sum in 5-10 years.
On to my question, there were a few threads here about what happens to the shares after the buyout. The general gist was you will be cashed out because Musk's original tender was to “acquire all of the outstanding Common Stock of Twitter.” So that's 100% leaving no room for any shares to be kept out of his hands.
However, a few replies said you can reject the tender to keep the shares, but that they would be illiquid and possibly worthless. Which would be fine with me.
So I just want to put this question to rest. Is there any way to keep the shares after the buyout? If yes, is it possible/likely Musk would change the company structure to make my shares null? Are there precedents for this kind of thing? Does anyone know what happened with Dell, Hilton or JAL when they were taken private and then re-listed?
Thank you!
