A lot of investors invest money they “don't need”, until the losses are significant and suddenly the realization of “I may need these funds actually”, hits and turns into selling at lows.
While one shouldn't time the market, the feds haven't even began their QT plan, removing 45b and then 90b a month from their sheets, there's more fed hikes around the corner too. The market is almost certain to continue dropping, especially with other issues like supply chain issues and war.
If you've invested funds you're already worried about, most likely you'll end up selling emotionally for a loss later on, so save yourself future losses if you're already in gut wrenching turmoil cause things are not looking better at all. However, if you're unfazed by everything taking place keep at it champ!
