I'm looking to understand market investment from the point of view as someone who has never been into it, but understands the basics and can learn quickly.
Essentially a book that doesn't insult my intelligence with too much of the obvious stuff, and instead gives a comprehensive working picture, sound actionable advice, overarching philosophy, and describes market forces and how to play them in your favor.
Statistical analysis and concrete historical examples while not reading as textbook-dry is preferred.
