I would like helpful ideas on how to document and keep records of my research and information I collect on stocks

I have been investing for a few years and I’ll be honest.. if I just put my money in an index fund or a few good etfs I’d have done better.

I am looking into this and intend on that being a part of my portfolio, as well as dividend, value investing and maybe a few riskier but not to risky ones. I don’t want to lose money but I also want to increase my earnings as well.

I am looking for templates or good ways to document my research. I sadly seem to forget things easily.. so it is really frustrating to do research and then for get it, forget stocks I’m interested in forget things I have learned.. it’s counter productive and I expend alot of effort for nothing.

I am thinking of using basic spiral notebooks, one book per stock. If there are better suggestions for this I am open to it. I’d like to get a template for basic info on the stock that make it easy to check back on.. like part of it being a lined and sectioned off neat easy to read area.. then some could be sections that I can write full thoughts out in sentences and paragraphs. I need help with what information is important and hopefully a working template that some of you good people of Reddit have used and know it to be helpful to you.. I’d give it a go and hope it is for me too.. it have to be better than what I am currently doing
Ty!
