As 2022 came to a close I decided to do tax loss harvesting and sold all my growth/risk stocks. I felt it was time to move on into index funds and blue chips. To start the year fresh. And I would just wait 1-2 weeks before buying back into the market.
Well it turns out if I had just did nothing for two more weeks I would have broken even on all those stocks I tax lost harvested. Two examples are WBD I bought in Oct 2022 around $13 people kept saying they had too much debt and were unprofitable. After seeing it tank day after day. I agreed their debt is probably too much. I gave up and sold Dec 28th at $9. I bought BABA August 2022 around $99. It had a brief rally into early Dec 2022 to $94. It then tanked to $85 Dec 23rd and I sold I just didnt want to be invested in a Chinese stock anymore.
How do you get over that you sold a stock right before it or the entire market rallied?
