I hired a wealth manager. What do you think about their strategy?

Prior to this I was primarily investing in SWTSX. That was fine for boring stable growth.

Then I got into Reddit and started “diversifying” into things like QQQ, ARKK, GME, etc. That strategy didn’t work too well for me and I spent way too much energy following trends.

So I got a professional wealth advisor charging around 1%.

My IRA now holds things like: LMBS, XLV, CQQQ, EEM, BOND, GLD, VFH, VUG and a number of other ETFs

My individual account now holds things like: ADBE, AAPL, T, BX, KO, EOG, JPM and a bunch of other individual stocks.

Seems like the strategy is diversified ETFs in my IRA and solid individual stocks in my taxable account. I’m not sure how often they rebalance but it is actively managed.

I know people here often say don’t pay a financial advisor but I feel way better about this setup than the garbage setup I created from reading Reddit. It feels good to have someone in my corner who’s entire life is spent paying attention to the market.

What do y’all think? Will I be grateful in the long run?
