Hi Everyone,
I am making a Google Sheet to track all my stock investments but I sm confused about how to calculate my Portfolio Value. For current holdings I know that I have to sum the market values but what about the previously owned holdings on which I have realized a gain or loss. Currently, I am trying to calculate it this way:
Portfolio Value =
Sum of all dividends to date
+ Sum of market values of current holdings
+ Gain/loss realized on previously owned stocks
Please let me know if I am missing something or double counting something?
