Novice investor question alert.
I've heard of large institutions intentionally pumping a stock to create interest, only to sell a large amount in order to cause retail buyers to get nervous and sell or buy, allowing the large institutions to profit off of this more predictable flow change.
How much of trading is based on this type of manipulation?
