How has social media affected the way people view the stock market?

So for further context, I am writing a small research paper on the effects that social media has had on the stock market and how people view the relationship between social media and stocks(If there is one). I've traded on and off for the past three years and can contribute some of my success and inspiration from others on social media, was just wondering if others feel the same. I really need some thoughts and ideas to help construct a thesis so any input would be appreciated! Thanks!
