How does inflation affect stocks?

I understand that if inflation is caused by printing money both incomes and prices go up. So nominal stock prices should go up. But how do stocks react in current us situation where incomes grow slower than prices as there are not only monetary, but political and energy related reasons for increases in prices. Will this also push stock prices up or down? Maybe some sectors will be more affected?
