A lot of attention is paid to semiconductor stocks with high valuations (NVIDIA and AMD namely). But I'm curious what folks here think about cheap semiconductor stocks. I have four companies in mind in particular:
- Alpha and Omega Semiconductor ($AOSL). Market cap of 1.22B, P/E is 2.7, Price/Free Cash Flow is 6.5. They make the bits involved with charging phones, laptops, batteries in general.
- Himax ($HIMX). Market cap of 1.65B, P/E is 3.6, Price/Free Cash Flow is 5.0. They're in the business of displays including computer screens, touchscreens, automobile displays, etc.
- Axcelis ($ACLS). Market cap of 1.91B. P/E is 18.88, Price/Free Cash Flow is 13.49. The stock isn't as “cheap” but they specialize in making equipment for producers of older, cheaper chips.
- Micron ($MU). Large cap of 80B, P/E is 8.6, Price/Free Cash Flow is 17.32. A top producer of flash memory, DRAM, and storage.
