How come lately bankruptcy announcements = exponential stock increases?

Traditional wisdom says that the stock bankrupt company should be worthless.

However, with YELL and TUP in recent weeks we have seen exponential increases in stock price following these announcements.

I'm asking because I believe (but cannot prove) there is something systematically wrong in the market (since COVID) that is leading to this irregular behavior.

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts.
