Honest question: Is it a good idea to ask this subreddit for basic advice?

I'm a total layman in the stocks industry so I'm only looking for very basic advice. I've heard some bad stories from r/wallstreetbets, so I'm cautious about asking a subreddit for financial advice. I suppose r/stocks attracts a different kind of people tho, so can I trust the advice of the people here?
