Historically, what has happened to the stock market when high inflation goes down?

I can't find any good Google results to my question because the search results are overrun by all of the inflation commentary going on over the past year.

Historically speaking, does the stock market pick up right where it left off after periods of high inflation? Does it tend to stay stagnant? Does it even go down a bit more before finally starting its recovery?
