High Dividend Yield Stocks vs. Low Dividend Yield Stocks

I’m brand new to investing and would like to invest in ETFs.

I’m extremely confused and would love clarification on the below:

What are the advantages and disadvantages of investing in high dividend yield stocks vs. low dividend yield stocks, and vice-versa?
