Long story short. I have TD Ameritrade. I placed several 0DTE option trades today. I closed them all out. I decided to switch from a cash account to a Margin account. After I did that. My buying power reset to my cash holdings. I decided to place one more option trade (2 contracts) and closed those out as well. Next thing I know, my account balance is roughly -500k. My entire account value is around 7k. i called them and they said 99% it’s just the system working out since I wasn’t supposed to trade after the account type transition to margin started. i think it’s fine but i’m low key freaking out and it’s the weekend. Am i good?
