Has anyone ever just not paid their broker?

I’m down a little over 40k on credit and as of yesterday I no longer have my brokerage account (deleted it yesterday). I’m wondering since I deleted my account will I just likely not hear from them? Should I take other steps i.e closing my bank accounts for now? Thank you
