Billionaire and Tesla founder Elon Musk (net worth $253.4 billion) had a brief affair with the wife of his friend Google co-founder Sergey Brin ($89.9 billion) in the fall of 2021. A year later, it became known that he had decided to divorce Nicole Shanahan.
However, according to the WSJ publication, an application to the court was filed at the beginning of this year. The grounds for divorce were “irreconcilable differences”.
Sources say the documents were sent to court a few weeks after Brin found out about the infidelity. It is reported that Nicole Shanahan hopes to receive one billion dollars in a divorce.
Cheating ruined the friendship of billionaires. Brin ordered financial advisers to pull out of personal investments in Musk's projects. Insiders claim that he knelt in front of Brin at one of the parties and asked for forgiveness. The latter accepted the apology, but almost stopped communicating with Musk.
Nicole Shanahan gave birth to Brin's son, who is now three years old. Until 2015, the billionaire was married to the founder of the biotechnology company 23andMe, Anna Wojcicki.
