“This is among — if not the most — complex, dynamic environments I’ve ever seen in my career,” Goldman President John Waldron said Thursday. “The confluence of the number of shocks to the system to me is unprecedented.” he went on to say, “We expect there’s going to be tougher economic times ahead”… “No question we are seeing a tougher capital-markets environment.”
He sounded more confident on his own firm’s ability to still print elevated profits through the downturn. “Whatever the economic environment is, we will do just fine,” he said.
