Generally speaking – is now a good time to buy long term investment stocks?

I’m referring to stocks that have a likelihood of not decreasing in the long term – let’s say, Costco, Microsoft, Johnson & Johnson

It seems like now is a good time to invest, but wondering if I should hold off and buy once the recession really hits…

(You can probably tell I’m new to investing – just been eyeing the market for a few months)
