Gas prices significantly down and oil up or at least obtaining price range?

Why are gas prices dropping so much, I get eh fear of recession bit but it should be trading oil prices. I don’t understand why gas prices are going down if oil is maintains the same price range for a month now. The need for gas comes down and the need for oil comes down with it. At least that’s a big part of it
