I am trying to find out the view of other investors/traders:
Does ethics matter in your investment decisions? Like…if you were sure that you could make a lot of money long-term with a stock, but the company does horrible things: Pollutes the environment, profits off inhumane child labor, tortures kittens and puppies, supports horrible politicians, whatever.
Would you buy Nestle if it presented a good opportunity?
Would that make a difference for you? Do you feel a bad conscience when you invest in something that goes against your value system? Where do you draw the line?
Or do you feel like “if I don't take the opportunity, somebody else will, so I might as well”?
