Hey everyone,
Long story short, I'm not an American.
So the country I live in, we have a pretty messed up tax system. After investing in $50K into non local stocks ( NZD) we get a capital gains tax. This happens every year and is done over the 'gains' that you have. So you could have unrealized gains and be taxed at a tax rate of 39% for me. This is limited to around a 5% max of your gains.
Anyways, because of that, I have few stock options and mainly invest in ETFs which track US vanguards but are ETF in my local country.
I've recently hit a point where i have around $200K/150K usd and have just started re-deploying.
Is it foolish of me to go like 100% VOO? or like 80% VOO/ 20% VT.
I do have a good understanding of stocks/finance markets and work in finance. But honestly, I can't deal with the admin/stress of constantly stock picking and figuring things out.
I can invest around $10k a month into whatever I choose.
So anyways – is $VOO a simple and easy way for me to invest? or shall I take a bit more risk at this stage. FYI – I'm mid 20s.
