Relevant quote at the end of the 2nd paragraph: “Based on information presently available to EPA, EPA has determined that Norfolk Southern Railway Company (Norfolk Southern or ‘you’) may be responsible under CERCLA for cleanup of the Site or costs EPA has incurred in cleaning up the Site.”
Thoughts on how $NSC will react to the potential liability? The notice was uploaded by the EPA on 2/10, but I’m unsure at what time, so I don’t know if the market was open and able to react.
