So how did I fuck up, well many ways. But first was taking advice from someone who doesn't own a yaht (jk jk) I did take bad advice and lost the down payment for a house we were saving. We are fortunate and the FIL fronted the money for the down payment I gambled. We have now paid back FIL and I want to know we're I went wrong to re coup or to sit on these investments. I don't know what information you guys need to let me get a better understanding so please be gentle and I'll provide the info as it's requested
