Doubt about results of VMWare with the Broadcom acquisition to my shares

This is probably me being stupid, fair warning.

I had 51 shares from VMWare. I voted to get stock for all 51 of them, before the limit date. I knew that I wouldn't get all 100% of them that is known, that is a not issue, I expected around 50%, 25 or so.

Then on 1 Dec after the merger finally happened, my broker updated with the “corporate action” and the result was:

  • 25 of my shares were paid to me at the defined price of the merge, 142.50 USD per share with a total of 3562,5 USD which in my case ended up being 3270,20 EUR.
  • 6 Broadcom shares, which also made sense, as the rest 26 shares were converted to Broadcom at a ratio of 0.2520 per share, there is a fraction lost there that I am not sure what would happen in that case but my current worry/doubt is something else.

To me this was all right (except the fraction part that I wasn't sure) and no issue.

The thing is 3 days later, on 4 Dec, unexpectedly to me another corporate action appeared.

It also indicated it was related to VMware but not much else information as it only appeared in the “account status” report as line, not like the usual corporate actions.

In this case they applied a negative transaction of -981,06 EUR with Value date of 1 Dec (altough the real date of application was 4 of Dec). So they removed that amount from my account balance (which also caused a negative balance due to me having done a transfer to my bank account just then).

And well… here is my thing, I have zero clue of what is this?

Some kind of correction? But what or why? It doesn't seem to make sense to me.

I am missing something? Any idea?

I mean I will eventually contact my Broker… but before that I wanted to check that I wasn't being dumb or stupid which probably I am 😛

If any of you could have an idea of what it could be, it would be great.
