Dividend Question

Are dividends paid in correspondence to dollar amount invested or shares owned? If I own two separate stocks that both pay a 1% dividend yield and I have $1,000 invested in each, but I own 10 shares of Stock A and 100 shares of Stock B, would I make more on dividends with Stock B? Additionally, what would the payout in this example be per annum? Someone I know who is knowledgeable told me I would make the same amount. Everything I read says the share count is what matters. Thanks for any help.
