The last time Disney paid a dividend was 2019, prior to the pandemic. The fiscal year end cash position for 2022 was $11.6 billion, compared to $5.4 and $4.2 billion in 2019 and 2018, respectively. The typical pre-pandemic dividend was about $3 billion. So, Disney investors and followers, will we see a dividend in the coming weeks under Robert Iger? His message to employees yesterday was continuation of the hiring freeze and no new acquisitions, both of which will only boost the cash position even more. Is he protecting cash for a possible dividend or signaling to the market that tough times continue at Disney and the dividend will be suspended again this year?
