If Disney's box office record in 2023 were an overhang over its stock, it should be no longer. Inside Out 2 is Disney's first animated sequel since 2019 and the first one announced by Iger upon returning, having obliterated projections, Moana 2 and Lion King 2 (Mufasa) should as well end of 2024.
Disney's one Marvel film this year “Deadpool3” was also produced under Iger and is now projected to crush the box office with a behemoth opening that puts it in the top 5 openings of all time.
All this points to a healthy and thriving creative company and bodes well for Iger's strategy to course correct.
