Dad set me up with an ISA (tax free investing for UK) My current positions is as follows :
AXA Framlington Biotech,
Invesco European equity ,
Invesco UK opportunities ,
AXA Framlington Global Technology fund,
Invesco Global equity
Due to time in the market, all of these have made money in total – lowest being 10%, highest 141% from the global technology one (I’ll probably keep this)
Now, while this is probably all great and impressive, and I’m very thankful, I’m away that if it was just our into something like VUSA or VUKE over the same period, my gains would probably be higher plus I would have received dividends to buy more stock with, further increasing gains.
The other thing is I can afford to be more aggressive due to the fact I’m 20 – I can afford the higher risk of investing outside of funds, plus dividends would be nice – the ideal scenario is higher growth plus a small dividend payment as this would be useful in my day to day life to cover expenses without selling things.
What would you guys recommend ? I’m open to basically anything. Risk is OK but manageable – I’m not looking to YOLO into SPY puts or anything lol.
Some ideas of companies I’ve looked at so far :
Warehouse REIT
Tesco plc
National grid
Unilever
I’m based in the UK so LSE would be easier for FX reasons but I’m open to literally anything.
Thanks guys !
