I’m new to energy stocks. The past few days, I’ve noticed some stocks (that seem to be mostly solar) having some very nice upward movement. That said, looking at their history it seems like many of them are still very very low from their all time highs, possibly even close to their all time lows.
It’s difficult to track exact movement in the individual stocks and the sector in general. But with increasing energy demands, I’m very confused why solar stocks aren’t doing better. Their increase this week seems mostly fueled by Biden’s increase on tariffs of Chinese solar.
With energy being fundamental to fueling literally everything, why are so many solar stocks so low? Is that typical for the whole energy sector?
Sorry if this is considered low effort, I’m sure there’s individual solar stocks that are performing very well (only one I could see is FSLR), but I find it very bizarre that anything in the energy sector (especially renewables) are trending so low when they’re necessary to fuel everything done by the Mag 7.
