Similar to how Elon musk has several separate companies and each has its own ceo and investment etc.
I don’t trust Facebook being able to do metaverse correctly and even less profiting from it.
They failed at hardware, they failed at payment systems, and several other business Facebook decided to branch into. (Failed or not been too successful)
Can shareholders (big holders like black rock/vanguard etc) sue meta so they focus on social media platforms?
10billion a year and not see profits for a decade or so for something that’s like a cartoon seems too risky.
Making a new company and the combining it seems a better choice, right?
