Forgive me if this is a stupid idea to begin with, but I want to put a little bit of my cash into securities that are inversely correlated with the S&P and the NASDAQ. Most of the funds I’ve seen have fees around 0.8%-1%, and put premiums are a bit steep when the expiration date is as far out as I would like to go (~1 year). I’m still in college, so I don’t have tons of cash to throw around so I’m just trying to keep the cost down. What are your favorite strategies for shorting the market with a 1-2 year horizon?
