Company Financials

I'm a new investor and I've been researching for a few days but can't seem to find a concrete answer. How can I download a companies financials into an excel spreadsheet to do fundamental analysis? Yahoo allows you to do it but you have to sign up for their paid service. Is there an easy way to do this that doesn't involve having to pay a 3rd party to do it?
