Colombia Equities? General Thoughts?

Hey everyone, I live in Colombia. President Gustavo Petro (openly socialist) has been in office for a year now and the Colombian Stock Exchange (BVC) has taken a plunge compared to the region. Our stock market used to go mostly the same direction as other South American countries (except Venezuela/Argentina), until he got in office. He is openly against mining, and further oil exploration contracts are on hold.

As they say, the bigger the plunge, the bigger the investor opportunity.

What are everyone's thought on Colombian equities; is the risk worth it? Some companies on the Colombian Stock Exchange now have +15%-20% dividend yields.

Other options would be to buy U.S. dollars (many people here do), or physical gold/silver (not that many people do that here).

Thank you.
