I am a new investor, I hold VOO, NVDA, AAPL, MSFT, GOOGL, AMZN as of yesterday. I am reading in the news almost every hour that the tensions between the US and China are rising as the speaker of the house plans to make a visit to Taiwan and stay there overnight tonight. Being a new investor I have no real idea what this could mean for the US market.
If China were to engage the US as a result of the speakers actions, what is the most probable outcome for the US markets? Is it even probable that China would actually act or is it all for show?
I’m asking this question for others who may want some basic clarification as well. And yes I am aware my portfolio is very tech heavy.
