What happens if executed trades are cancelled?
Just got a message from my broker saying that their upstream provider Blue Ocean had an anomaly during the overnight trading session, and orders executed between 1:45 AM and 03:06 AM have been cancelled. What does this mean? Does that mean the stocks that I sold (admittedly panic sold) will be returned?

While intel is down 50% this year, Windows is still holds 72% of the market share, with intel CPUs being the majority, what’s actually next?
With the rise if AI everybody's talking about GPUs, in the meantime, It's unlikely intel actually goes anywhere in the CPU industry. Can AMD take their market share? Can Intel actually collapse with so much market share superiority?

Do you think the rotation into small caps is over at this point? Or do you think there’s still room to go?
Small caps are more sensitive to macro-economics and so recession fears (whether or not an actual recession occurs) are certainly not great for small caps. Additionally if investors are fearful and not greedy, it’s likely that they’ll prefer putting their money into more defensive investments like utilities. Then again, if the fed is trying to…

Apple Intelligence Has a Long Way to Go to Match Its Marketing Hype
Selected Excerpts: “After testing the first beta version of Apple Intelligence myself, I can tell you that the features don’t yet live up to the excitement. In their current state, they’re a far cry from the game-changing technology that fans and investors hope Apple Intelligence will become.” “You even see some analysts describing it as a…

Clarification on capital loss carryover
If I make a realized loss of $100k this year. And then I make a realized gain of $100k next year. Do I effectively have $0 in capital gains taxes? I always thought I could only ever chip away at that loss $3k per year. But maybe I misunderstood.

Am I stupid for seeing the market dump as a buying opportunity
Title says it all Quick info: I'm only about 6 months into investing and I'm only playing with around 4/5k in my portfolio with 1.8k cash available to invest still. I'm still learning about the stock markets and economics in general. All I'm hearing and seeing is fear and panic selling everywhere. Am I stupid…

How does VIX correlate to the market and what does it mean?
Hey reddit, I had 2 main questions: Recently the VIX hit 60+, levels only seen during during the dotcom bubble, '08 and covid. Generally the vix just shows volatility so here it means stocks can fluctuate +/-60% (I understand that's not exactly it but for simplicity sake) but historically it basically just means stocks will…

Why The Rumored Delay Of NVIDIA’s Blackwell GPUs is Unlikely To Be A Deal Killer
https://www.chaotropy.com/why-the-rumored-delay-of-nvidias-blackwell-gpus-is-unlikely-to-be-a-deal-killer/ From the article: [ But even if there is a design flaw, it is most likely the interconnect between two Blackwell GB100s to a GB200. This would mean that the individual Blackwell GPUs are not affected. It has already been reported here that problems with this interconnect could lead to production delays of two…

Why isn’t higher volatility good for brokers? HOOD, IBKR etc. ?
This may come across as a dumb question to many but I am genuinely curious why would brokerage companies fall just as hard as other companies? Wouldn't buying or selling high volume result in more revenue in their bottom line, how exactly would their revenue be affected during recession? At the end of the day…
