Bg: I’ve (27M) been trading stocks for six years, and have made very decent returns. I got into options trading during the beginning of the pandemic and have been moderately successful over the past two years.
My girlfriend (25F) and I have a one-year old son, and I’m going this week to set up a small index portfolio for him when he reaches 21. This got me thinking about her financial future and told her to invest $600 of her $5000 tax return in some stocks.
She’s very skeptical and hesitant. I asked why and her reply was she wants to wait until she’s financially stable enough to do so. We came up with a list of stocks based around her interests which actually found her some companies with strong core businesses. (SBUX, WLMT, LVMH, etc) Yet she gets quiet and unresponsive when I bring it up. What can I do? These next few months are a great opportunity to get in but I’ve hit a brick wall.
