Can someone please ELI5 Brookfield Asset Split BAM & BN

I owned a few shares of Brookfield before they split. I’m now seeing two separate tickers in my portfolio : BAM: Brookfield Asset Management and BN: Brookfield Corp.

I’m having troubles understanding the split and what it means and wondering if someone can ELI5. I now have 36 shares of BN and 11 shares of BAM.
