Can someone explain dividends in layman’s terms?

Or let me know if I misunderstand them. Because I think I'm overcomplicating it…

Dividend on ledger shows 0.90. That's per share, per quarter, average? Dividend yield says 9%. That's how much the dividend will be, percentage wise, per cost of 1 share? So in that case the stock price would be $10/share?

So say you have 30k shares. Total investment worth $300k. Price of the stock when it's time to distribute dividends is $10/share. Would you multiply 0.90 X 30,000? Would be $2700. Is that an annual amount or would it be quarterly?

Sorry if I sound like a dunce. I was never good at math 😐
